The Luckiest Man On Earth

Today marks 36 weeks of pregnancy, which means the stork should be arriving with Mr. Stan Man anywhere in the next one to three weeks.  I can’t believe how quickly the last nine months have passed.  Seriously, it seems like yesterday when my wife surprised me with a card containing the greatest news I have ever received in my life, along with an at-home pregnancy test baring a bold plus sign.  This pregnancy was planned in every way.

Right now, I’m feeling a tremendous burst of excitement and love for my wife and a profound appreciation for life, mixed with a slight bit of anxiety.  However, I’m sure the anxiety will cease once Stan is with us in the flesh.  I’m absolutely dying to meet him!

Although I have been uber busy preparing for Stan’s arrival, I’m still finding some time to write and shoot pictures.  The shots below are of my lovely wife Eva at 34.5 weeks pregnant.  It was Friday, the sun was just beginning to set and we had just returned home from a wonderful meal at Chenery Park Restaurant in Glen Park.  At that moment, I remember feeling like I was, as the great Lou Gehrig once said, “The luckiest man on earth.”
