On the subject of Mike Carroll and Half Cabs...

Just a quick follow up to last Thursday's post.  Apologies in advance to all the non-skateboarders that read this blog.  I know the site’s been uber skate heavy as of late. I’m on another one of my early-‘90s glory days kicks.  Please humor me.

This here's one of my all-time favorite skate photos: Mike Carroll with a stylish nose wheelie on the infamous "C" Block at EMB (RIP) circa 1992.  Peep the braids with the bleached tips.  Photo by the Almighty Morford.  Judging by MC's get up, the photo looks like it was shot the same day he tried to switch bigspin heelflip the Seven at EMB (the ender of his "Questionable" video part).

And here's an ad from an old Thrasher Mag from 1992 indroducing the Vans Half Cab.  The purple pair with the black sole are sick!  They need re-release that color today.  I'm also a fan of the all black pair with the white stiching.  Those purple Chucka's are nice, too.

My fave pair in the 90s were the steve caballero's. I dont think I took them off for a whole year, love those things.

As a constant reader of your nice blog, I dont think I've introduce myself (if so, dont remember). I just found a follow-up comment from January.-anyways, I have a little-hobby blog just for fun

Hey there! Funny, I check out your site regularly, too!

The full Cabs (Caballero's) just didn't do it for me. I was never a fan of high-tops. I used to chop the tops off 'em with scissors to turn them into mid-tops.
