Alien Workshop Movie Screening
SF Indiefest is hosting a free screening of Alien Workshop's highly anticipated skateboarding film, "Mind Field," this weekend in The City's Mission District. Four years in the making, "Mind Field" is the skateboard company's fourth video. Past releases include "Memory Screen" (1991), "Timecode" (1997) and "Photosynthesis" (2000). All three videos are revered classics among the skateboarding set.
Founded in 1990 by Chris Carter and Mike Hill, Alien Workshop, based in Dayton, Ohio, is known for its unique graphics, which usually have a theme of conspiracy, futurism, the extraterrestrial and paranormal.
"Mind Field" features some of skateboarding's biggest names, including Heath Kirchart, Josh Kalis, Anthony Van Engelen, Jason Dill, Steve Berra and Rob Dyrdek (from MTV's "Rob and Big" show), among others.
Arrive early as both screenings are guaranteed to be packed. 7 and 9 p.m. Sun. Victoria Theatre, 2961 16th St. (415)863-7576. www.victoriatheatre.org.
