Site Updates, Sippin' Sizzurp and Other Randomness...

I made some updates to the site the other day…

First, I finally got around to adding some writing clips to the “Client Work” section on the Portfolio page. That space had been sitting vacant with a placeholder since I launched this beast back in June. I have way more samples to add, but am having trouble locating the images that accompany the text files at the moment. Go figure...

I also updated the links to my weekly “City Sports” column in the San Francisco Chronicle, which I’m proud to say is now over 65 weeks strong. You can check those updates out HERE. Not sure what I'm going to do yet, but I’m definitely going to treat myself to something nice when I hit 100 weeks.

On the Photos page, I added a new gallery to the “Travel” category documenting a recent trip to Vancouver, B.C.  I also added a handful of new pics to the beginning of the “Friends and Family” gallery.  Take a look…

Lastly, I’m working with the good folks at Legitify to make some design changes to the site, which I’m hoping will take place sometime early-to-mid next week. However, the changes will be so subtle that you probably won’t even notice them.

And on that note, friends, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, and I leave you with these two clips that I’m currently feeling:

Uno: P.E.A.C.E. (Freestyle Fellowship) and Divine Styler. P.E.A.C.E. is hands down one of my all-time favorite emcees. He actually used to live up the street from me here in S.F. back in 2000/2001, so we kicked it somewhat regularly.

Funny story, one night while getting set to record a song, P.E.A.C.E. pulled out a stack of nudie mags from his backpack, opened each of them to his favorite spread and laid them out on the floor in front of him for inspiration while he rapped. Classic! He ripped the mic harder that night than anyone I have ever witnessed in my entire life.

Dos: I had been looking for this Kool Keith track for years. I remember my friend bought the record back in ’95 – I don’t think it came out in any other format – and he gave me a dub of it, but the tape disappeared shortly thereafter. It had easily been 11 or 12 years since I last heard this song. Anyway, I randomly stumbled across it late the other night while gurping off some liquid codeine that my doctor gave me for this nasty cough I've been battling. This song is real crazed... "I hit the Vegas scene with models from a magazine, everybody tested, no HIV, the stable's clean [...]"  Yeeeeee.
