Rest in Power KERSE1 (1982-2008)

I received some very saddening news the other day that an old buddy of mine from Seattle, Morgan Otonicar (a.k.a. Kerse1), passed away over the weekend. I met Morgan when he first moved to San Francisco in 1999/2000. He was no older than 16 or 17. Morgan, at the time, was like a younger brother to my good friend Colin, so the two of us saw each other somewhat regularly over the six or seven years he lived in The City.

Morgan was hands down one of the realest individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, a man that lived life the fullest -- his way and on his terms. When you were rolling with Morgan, you knew he had your back no matter what popped off, which is more than you can say about most folks. It’s a damn shame the good always die so young. Rest in Power, Brother! You are truly going to be missed.

My most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to Morgan's friends and family during this difficult time.

Much Love, Much Respect

The following is a eulogy my friend J.R. Ewing of Seattle posted about Morgan on the Winner’s Circle blog:

“One of my best friends Morgan Otonicar (aka KERSE 1) passed away last week. I would like to take a moment to remember him. He was one of the most unique hard as nails individuals I have ever met in my life. Nothing in his life came easy yet he strived forward and conquered the odds to become a legend in the graff community. I feel very blessed to have been able to be a part of his life and have had the chance to go on so many adventures with him. I will truly miss him with all of my heart. This is a very hard time for all of his friends and family. My thoughts and Prayers are with all of you! Rest In Paradise homie Ill see you at the top!” -- J.R. Ewing of Seattle
