Purple Skunk "All-Skate Jam"
By Travis Jensen
Get your shred on at the All-Skate Jam happening this weekend in Golden Gate Park. This is an event for wood-pushers of all genres: new school, old school, freestyle, slalom, you name it. All are welcome to come hang out, even those that don’t have their own board. Special guests include the Sk8Kings skateboarding team, www.sk8kings.com.
Have you ever seen Sk8kings Team Captain Richy “Brown Bomber” Carrasco spin 360°s? If not, prepare for shock-and-awe. Carrasco, who’s been in the skate game since the mid-‘70s, currently holds the Guinness Book World Record of a 142 consecutive 360° spins. Carrasco also recently broke the world record for the 100-cone slalom run, where he zigzagged cleanly through 100 straight, full-sized cones in a mere 21.179 seconds.
Other Sk8Kings rippers will also be in the mix, including freestylers Gary Holl, Christian Opperman, Marcus Rietema and John Bunn.
Event will include product tosses and other giveaways, so maybe you might walk away with a new board, wheels or threads.
