Trivia Contest Winner and More...

Congrats to Andrew Nacion out in Daly City for being the first of six to respond with the correct answer to Friday’s trivia question.

Question: Which skateboarder used Freestyle Fellowship’s “Inner City Bounderies” (1993) song in their mid-90s video part?

Answer: Stevie Williams.

Not only did Andrew answer with the name of the correct skateboarder, but he also provided the name of the video, Underworld Element’s “Fine Artists Vol. 1” (1994). (Andrew, be on the lookout for a package here in the next couple of days!)

If you haven’t seen “Fine Artists Vol. 1,” well, you’re outta’ luck, my friend. I don’t know where you can find it. I think I might have a fourth generation dub on VHS tucked in a box somewhere in my mom’s basement, but I’m not certain. Does anyone know if this video is available anywhere online? I was able to find Pepe Martinez’s (RIP) part, which is probably one of my favorite video parts of all time. Dude was WAAAY ahead of his time -- a true pioneer, innovator and legend! I was also able to find this Underworld Element 411 VM Industry clip from 1994. Damn, I truly miss those days! The Digable Planets track is also killing it! I keep both “Reachin” and “Blowout Comb” in constant rotation in my tape deck. Yes, tape deck. No iPod for me. I’m strictly tapes and cds.
